I’m wondering why people are still using the word “weblog” despite the prevalence of “blog.” According to my rough research on Google Scholar, researchers have stopped using the term “weblog” since 2004. If you google “blog,” you’ll get 1,170,000,000 results while searching “weblog” returns 124,000,000 items only.
Google Trends shows that “weblog” has never been popular.

So why?
P.S. I’m NOT that interested in why weblog diehards still exist. This is a post to show I’m still alive and the (we)blog is not dead yet.
