I’m sitting on the floor of living room in the old apartment. Everything is cleaned out except memories.
It’s actually the first year I started to live on myself. Life is not as tough as I’d imagined; it’s not easy, either.
I can’t see the future [ I am myopic ], but I do possess the old days. Bye, 519 N 20th ST.

I’m gonna move into a place without telephone and Internet access so far. So many things have to be done to settle down. Cell phone, cable, ID, address changing… so many things start over again. Why americans love moving so much?
Everything is messy, including myself.

The unfortunate reality here, however, is that many bloggers themselves often neglect to properly credit other webloggers who break hard news through real reporting. How can we expect the press to source us if we neglect to credit the other members of our own community? Many journalists have a code ethics they must abide by. We don’t.

In response to Steve Rubel’s Petition to Commit to Proper Blog Sourcing (2004), I’ve been pondering what a standardized reference/sourcing style bloggers should come up with to gain full credit they deserve from journalists and other bloggers. Proper blog sourcing is pivotal to the integrity of blogosphere and would serve as backing for the creativity of bloggers. Due to the decentralization of blogosphere, we cannot rely on certain individual institution to sketch out codes of ethics for bloggers. We have to be on ourselves. Thus, several questions should be taken into account before we embark on the establishment of the new style.

Dan Qu, known as Bluegiva as well, is one of my best friends. She’s a lady with unique characteristics impressive enough for anyone meeting her for the first time to remember her for a long period. She’s also one of a few friends I definitely enjoy chatting with all the time. Seriously. As long as you’ve ever had the opportunity to read her essays, you would not visit my blog again if you are a regular visitor here.
But she’s too stubborn to be persuaded into starting blogging. I even signed up on blogbus for her but she just let me down. I can’t think out a better way than this to beg her to blog. Hope this works.

I’m pretty fascinated with the character design in South Park. Aren’t those guys cute? Hey, I mean characters only! I don’t enjoy the four-letter words there at all!!!!
I scooped this fun stuff about South Park out of Cheah Chu Yeow’s redemption in a blog. This is one of the best blog designs I’ve ever seen on the Net. I love the color scheme so much!!!
Create your own South Park character by playing with a combination of heads, eyes, background, clothes and more stuff. This is my own character. I know it looks silly but that’s exactly the hairstyle I’m wearing now!!!

It’s great fun to find answers for the Gmail Contest. Not for the Gmail account but to challenge myself. A hide-and-seek game online.
1) The first person recruited by Google (aside from Sergey Brin and Larry Page) worked in a company during Summer 1992, 1993. Which was the name of this firm?
First of all I have to figure out who’s the first Google employee. Then I can search for his/her resume to know who he worked for 12 years ago.
Search keywords: Google first employee
The frist result: unstruct.org: Interview with Google’s first employee. Directed by the link in the post entry to Stefanie Olsen’s interview with Craig Silverstein, Director of Technology at Google.
Keywords: Craig Silverstein
The first result is Craig’s homepage hosted by standford University. Ummm….seems this Silverstein is exactly the one we are looking for. Check him resume out here. In the work experience section, it reads:

Software Design Engineer at Microsoft in Seattle, WA.
In 1993, developed a segment of a communications interface for Microsoft’s entry into the handheld computer market. In 1992, conceived, designed, and programmed one segment — a game — of a multimedia project involving works of Igor Stravinski. Summer 1993, 1992.

So fill in MICROSOFT

Read through ericfish’s Liesure.Time Story and found an interesting post concerning the Gmail Contest in which “the first person who answers them will get an invitation to test Gmail”.
Ericfish wrote that he just quit at the 3rd question, which says:

According to Google, the most popular searched word in May 2002 was the name of a woman. In her first movie, she performed with an actor who was the main character of the film. In which city was this actor born?

Hey, ericfish, don’t be panic! Do you know Google keeps records of all its global search statistics since the year 2001? Actually it’s a fancy stuff which is known as Google Zeitgeist. Does the clue help? I dig the answer out in the following steps:
1. Google “zeitgeist” for the exact URL of Google Zeitgeist
2. Go to Archived information
3. Go to 2002 Year-End Zeitgeist
4. Go to the 2002 Year in Review Timeline [ click to enlarge]
5. Scroll right for May and click for detailed record.
6. See? Top 10 Gaining Queries of May 2002 1. natalie portman. Ummm… she’s one of my favorite actresses and I was deeply impressed by her performance in Leon. Wait, is Leon exactly her debut? I have to make sure of this.
7. Click the first search result and you will be directed to http://www.natalieportman.com. Do you notice the FILMOGRAPHY out there? Here we go. Yes!!! L¨¦on (a.k.a The Professional) is her first movie.
8. I know the actor is Jean Reno now I need to figure out where he was born.
9. Just go to Internet Movie Database and search “Jean Reno”. I got him here. The first line of mini biography reads:Born in Casablanca, Morocco…
So you’ve got the answer!!!
